Course Description
A basic approach to the foundations of realism in charcoal. Make something special that includes your creative take on a subject. Start with the basics of visually translating your three-dimensional (still life) or two dimensional (photograph, print, etc.) object onto paper with the use of charcoal and conté. The class covers the use of charcoal medium and methods of translating dimension. After the basics, you will work on individual projects with the instructor's guidance. Previous experience with charcoal is not necessary. Class consists of six sessions.
