Keys to Good Landlording

*Not curently being offered.

Course Description

This attorney-led course examines legal and practical considerations of becoming a residential landlord: advertising, entering into rental agreements, using notices properly, and evictions. It also looks at the important requirements of fair housing laws, both state and federal. Class is not a property manager training. Consists of one session, with a one-hour lunch break.

Instructor: Janay Haas, an attorney since 1983, has practiced law in Oregon, Idaho, and New Mexico. A landlord for the past 28 years, she represented tenants for 25 years in cases against landlords and housing authorities. She authored three editions of the book "Landlord-Tenant Rights in Oregon" and also wrote "Using Small Claims Court in Oregon."
