Biography

Born and raised in the Phoenix, Arizona area till the late 1990's, then moved to the Rogue Valley.

Have been in both the plant nursery field and the education field my whole adult life. Designed, installed and managed container plant nurseries in both Arizona and Oregon. Discovered the first ornamental plant patented in Arizona, it is a Salvia variety and is now grown all over the world.

My first community college teaching position was for Central Arizona College at their Arizona State Prison campus inside a medium security prison. I taught a horticulture program to train inmates how to grow and maintain landscape plants. Quite the captive student body.

My last nursery position was helping train adults with disabilities to grow plants at Hollyhock Nursery in Ashland, Oregon. I have worked with adults at all skill levels.

I have been a part-time Instructor in the Computer Science department at RCC for about 15-16 years, and I thoroughly enjoy it.
