A mechatronics technician is a cross between a millwright in mechanical skills, an industrial electrician in troubleshooting expertise, and a computer programmer in programming and operating automated equipment including industrial robots and commercial heating and cooling systems. Promoting energy efficiency is a growing aspect of the trade.

RCC students can choose from a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree, or a one-year Mechatronics Specialist certificate.
