Outcomes-Based Instructional Design at RCC

We're asking the questions:
  • What do we want our students to be able to DO when they earn a specific certificate or degree at RCC?
  • What is our evidence on whether they have met those outcomes?
  • How can we use that evidence to improve our practices and programs?
Why should we care about this?
  • Students should be able to envision themselves in real-life roles, using the skills and knowledge that they have developed while they are here with us.
  • Community members and future employers should be able to envision what our graduates can DO out there in the context of their lives.
  • We should be able to know that what we do matters, that students are learning what we want them to learn, and that we can continually improve what we do.
