An introduction to the multifaceted discipline of making comics and graphic novels.  This class will instruct the student, through a series of in-class and take home projects, in the beginning concepts and techniques in telling a story visually within the comic book and sequential art format.

This is an ideal experience for anyone who has ever dreamed of being able to create their own worlds and tell their own stories in the mediums of comics, web comics and graphic novels.
A series of in-class projects will culminate in a final two-week sequential art project. Instructor will also discuss character design, lettering and cover illustration.
Quinton Chapman graduated from RCC in 2016 after extensive study and practice in art. He won three awards in RCC Student Art Shows and was honored as an Outstanding Student in Art. After falling in love with the Drawing for Comics and Sequential Art class, he took it several times, eventually collecting the artwork he crafted there and selling it as a short comic at the 2016 Medford Comic Con. Quinton is dedicated to making this class available to future students looking to explore visual storytelling through sequential art, as he believes strongly in the medium's ability to communicate ideas in an enjoyable and powerful way.
