Matt Williames

Matt Williames began his 20 year career at the age of 14 when he began working professionally as an animator while still in high school on such projects like “Quest for Camelot” to independent projects like the Oscar nominated “Stubble Trouble”.

After high school Matt immediately relocated to California to attend CalArts Character Animation program in 2000. Not long after Matt was hired by Warner Brothers Feature Animation, at age 20, as an animator on “Looney Tunes: Back in Action”.

After that film Matt was met at a cross-roads of carrier paths: stay doing what he loved in hand drawn animation which was dying a slow death, or pursue a non-passion in CG which was booming and employing all of his friends. He chose former; a career that has taken him to almost every major studio and working in several different capacities and leaves him as one of the few remaining hand drawn animators actively working in the industry. Matt has worked on such films as “Coraline”, “Princess and the Frog”, “Me and My Shadow”, been an animation supervisor at Disney TV Animation and was also a part of the core team that animated the Oscar nominated and Annie Award winning “Adam and Dog”.

Matt is currently animating on the live-action/animated film from Disney set for a Christmas release in 2018 as well as preparing to be a supervising animator on the anticipated film, Klaus.
