Rogue Community Chorus

Instructor: Deborah Pratt

Voices from the Grants Pass Community Join Together

Singers high school age and older join together in the Rogue Community Chorus to sing a variety of music, culminating in performances at the RCC Rogue Auditorium, on First Friday, and in other community venues.  The music performed includes seasonal music, popular songs, classical works, patriotic and traditional music, Broadway selections, contemporary choral compositions, and acapella arrangements...and more (we love suggestions!).
Chorus members often comment that being in the chorus provides a place not only to sing music that they enjoy, but to make life-long friends with others from on- and off-campus.  In fact, two members who met in the choir got married.  There is also a great sense of accomplishment from rehearsal to rehearsal leading up to our concerts.

Love to Sing? Join us!

The Chorus is open without audition to all singers (high school age and up) who can sing a melody accurately.
Rehearsals are on Mondays in Building T, Room 1, on the RCC Redwood Campus. Fall, Winter, and Spring term rehearsals meet from 6:00-7:50 pm, and Summer term rehearsals meet from 6:00-8:50 pm.

Annual Messiah Sing

December at the River Valley Community ChurchMessiah
Once again this year the tradition continues!  For the over 10 years, friends and neighbors have joined together to sing Handel's Messiah. The event has become highly anticipated each year as an inspirational and celebratory opening to the Christmas season.  Choral music scores are provided (or singers may bring their own).
The Rogue Community Chorus provides a foundation of singers for this event. We provide practice CDs to our members and also practice the choruses from the Messiah at 7:30 pm at the end of our regular rehearsal time from October through November.  Non-choir members are welcome to join us for this half-hour Messiah practice.
A group of community musicians come together to provide the orchestra for the Sing-Along Messiah each year.  If you play a band or string instrument and would like to join the orchestra for this event, please contact the director, Deborah Pratt, at
In addition to choruses, the arias are sung by members of our community. Auditions are held in October.  Contact Deborah Pratt at for the date, time and location of the auditions.
Choral selections at the Messiah Sing-along include:
And the glory of the Lord
And he shall purify
O thou that tellest
For unto us a child is born
Glory to God
His yoke is easy
Worthy is the Lamb...Amen
