RCC Continuing Education in partnership with Rogue Careers will offer the following classes free for qualified job seekers to provide practical, hands-on career exploration and exposure to viable careers pathways in the welding and manufacturing industries. Funding for these workshops was made possible through the United States Depart of Labor’s Disaster Recovery Dislocated Worker Grants. # DW-34815-20-60-A-41

Introduction to Welding Fundamentals

Introduction to Welding Fundamentals

Location: RCC Table Rock Campus, White City
Limit: 12
Course Description: Introduces basic steel welding for those in the industry and construction trades, or fabrication enthusiasts. Produce industry-quality welds using GTAW, GMAW and FCAW. Short study of welding code, destructive testing of welds, layout and fabrication practice, shop math and welding safety. Capstone: layout and fabrication of industry quality fabrication projects using shearing and forming. All materials and safety gear will be provided.
Session 1: Friday, April 30 from 5-7pm and Saturday May 1 from 9am – 4pm.
Session 2: Friday, June 4 from 5-7pm and Saturday June 5 from 9am – 4pm.

Introduction to Manufacturing & Design

Course Description: This course serves as an introduction to manufacturing and hands-on skills training. The course is designed to develop an understanding of various manufacturing processes, materials and possible career-opportunities in manufacturing related disciplines. The course will include an orientation to the use of personal computers in manufacturing and various industry standard software programs, recognize various processes and machinery and product design concepts. All materials and safety gear will be provided.
Session 1: Friday, May 14 from 5-7pm and Saturday May 15 from 8am – 4pm.
